I've been up for nearly two hours on this Saturday morning and I've already gotten 2 emails from Internet Marketers about the ominous "disappearance" of the google wonderwheel (cue up the Wonder Woman theme song).
Both even go so far as to make a video about it. Seriously, folks, it takes less than 5 seconds to change.
First off, yes, I'm talking about the disappearance of the wonderwheel too! How's that for jumping on the bandwagon?
But what I'm really here to say is, who cares? (By the way, if you do care, I'll tell you how to "find" the missing wonderwheel. Skip to the end.)
I mean, does anybody really use the wonderwheel? I know some bloggers use it to get keyword and topic ideas. But do "real people" use it? Naw…
Do Internet Marketers use it? Seriously, I'd be surprised if more than a few hundred people use it. But then again, I'm easily surprised 🙂
Out of 6 or 7 billion people on the planet, that's not many. Even counting folks with internet access, it's still a very small percentage.
Then, I come about it from another angle: What's in it for Google and why did they make it disappear?
Coincidentally, the wonderwheel disappeared at the same time as "Google Instant" came out.
Oversight on Google's part? Some dastardly plan to mess with a few IMer's heads?
I say, who knows and who cares?
What do you think?
Okay, here's how to get it back, if you care.
Go to your Google preferences and choose "Do not use Google Instant"
That's it. Big secret revealed. I'm pretty sure you didn't need a video to explain that.
