Rules of building website rankings

Here goes, the simplest rule you will ever have to follow when it comes to getting a website ranked:

  • Drive traffic

How you get the traffic really doesn't matter. Tell your friends, send an email to your existing subscribers, put a link on Facebook, tell your local networking group about it. Hell, put an ad in the paper, buy some AdWords.

Do a press release (a real one–not an “SEO press release”).

Just get people to your site.

That's the Golden Rule, or Rule #1.

You will have to wait for Rule #2. If you can't wait and like to speculate, tell me what you think Rule #2 is in the Comments.
