I'm sitting in the hospital waiting room. My wife is having surgery this morning. It's outpatient but she'll be here overnight (just not 24 hours, which apparently causes insurance companies undue grief and we wouldn't want to do that now, would we?)

She should be out in about 1/2 an hour. That's a good thing.

As I'm sitting here, I can browse the web, read and respond to email, and work on small projects. I thought now would be a good time to give an update on what I'm doing and how it might help you.

I'm working on three things right now, primarily.

  1. Local internet marketing – trying to get this puppy off the ground. Even though I list it #1, it's definitely been put on the back burner with everything else going on. But local is where the action is and getting businesses found is highly rewarding, so I have to make some traction on this, and soon.
  2. Private label training – I put together training for a big internet marketing company. I'm sort of in limbo right now. I just did a major re-do of a video training series I put together 2 years ago and am waiting on next steps: Launch, announcement, marketing, etc. I have another project in the hopper that I have to re-shoot but am waiting for WordPress 3.6 to go live…and the guys at WordPress keep pushing out the release date. Ug.
  3. Finally, I have a solo information product in the works. It's all about content marketing and it's called “Content Triple Play.” I have done a lot of preliminary work on it but now I gotta get down to brass tax — outline it, script it, shoot it, etc.

I do have another project that may enter the fray. I want to start a mini-network of blogs that center on specific niches or industries. Thinking of putting one together for online business and another for fitness. The idea was inspired by a product I bought a while back called “Secret Web Assets,” whose primary strategy was to get websites ranked using private networks that you build.

The idea is that you go out and find high PageRank domains, acquire them, and begin linking to your “money sites” for the backlink juice (SEO benefits).

Mine will be different, however. I want to build these sites from the ground up, making them super SEO-powerful, all the while making them business properties that are profitable. Once they achieve good PR, I will begin using them to promote even bigger authority sites.

I'm hoping I can “rinse and repeat” this first effort over and over again in various money-making niches.

But this project will be a major undertaking and may take a lot of time…weeks, even months. So stay tuned for that.

  • Hi Bill, I made an attempt to discuss with you a marketing challenge I have. A couple of friends, one a high profile jazz guitarist known for his work with Peggy Lee and Natalie Cole, the other a female singer who is his side kick, are working to master a cd featuring their music. As a neophyte to marketing (at least in this vein) I’m trying to find a way to feature them to jazz lovers across the world, and thought that maybe you might have some thoughts as to a good approach to doing this. I understand you’re in the business to make money, I don’t have a problem with that. These folks and their music are a class act, and can be a sound business opportunity. You never responded to my initial inquiry, any thoughts now?

    • Hi Jim, I apologize – I got your first message in Facebook and then never got another notification…I’ve had a love/hate affair with Facebook “email” since its inception…in that I almost never “get it.”

Now I see your response and have gone back to Facebook email to see that, “there it is.” Dang it.

Let me give it some thought and I’ll respond to your Facebook emails – give me a day or so.

  • So I finished the training vids (both series) and am working on the 2 projects mentioned. Blog network took a very back burner and the content training is at the forefront right now. I also want to build a “tool” that will help people find link partners, because in 2013 and beyond, that’s where it’s at.
