Elon Musk Launches Artificial Intelligence Company xAI: What to Know
Speaking of Artificial Intelligence, Elon Musk! (That’s the joke.)
Elon Musk has launched a new AI company called xAI, which is focused on ensuring that AI is used safely and responsibly. The company has hired a team of experts from across the AI industry, and is being advised by Dan Hendrycks, the director of the nonprofit Center for AI Safety. xAI has not yet released any details about its specific plans or projects, but Musk has said that he believes AI is a “fundamental existential risk” to humanity.
As is Musk himself.
US Top Competition Watchdog Opens Investigation into ChatGPT Maker OpenAI
The FTC is investigating OpenAI over concerns that ChatGPT may have violated consumer protection laws. The FTC is specifically looking into whether ChatGPT has made false or misleading statements, or whether it has misused personal data. OpenAI is cooperating with the investigation.
In that light, I’m now more actively using Google’s Bard.
