How to Configure WordPress

Before you can configure WordPress, you need to know a bit about the WordPress dashboard elements and how they work.

Then, do this:

  • Set your ping list. Go to settings -> writing and paste in my ping list. You can find that list here.
  • In settings -> permalinks, choose “custom structure” and paste in /%category%/%postname%/
  • In settings -> media, uncheck the box under “upload media” that refers to putting images in date folders

That's about it! You're almost there!

How to Publish Your First Blog Post

Publishing your very own first blog post is quite easy. In your WordPress dashboard, go to Posts on the left-hand side, “create a new post”, and then start writing!
