cover

Hi and welcome to the Episode #113 of the Internet Marketing Muscle Podcast.

[tweetthis url=”http://goo.gl/qGVJOI”]Product, Price, Promotion, and P… these are the 4 P's of marketing. Learn more on the podcast.[/tweetthis]

Show Notes

  • Episode #13!!!
  • Dedicating this one to you.
  • Let’s get started!

I'm going on hiatus 🙁

  • But it’s not a bad thing.
  • I am working on a BIG project.
  • In fact, it’s the biggest project I’ve ever worked on.
  • But this doesn’t mean the podcast is dead. It just means I’ll be publishing less frequently and less “on a schedule.”

What is it?

  • This is NOT a pitch for the project.
  • I just want to keep you in the loop.
  • It’s an online summit.
  • I am in the beginning stages, so I don’t even have a name for it.

It will be all about information publishing

  • I can tell you that much.
  • And it will cover the “4 P’s” of marketing, plus a lot of other useful stuff.
  • What are these “4 P’s,” you may ask. Let me tell you a story.

I used to be a retail store manager (decades ago)

  • I had a super mentor.
  • He was tough. He was the starting QB for Cal Berkeley back in the day.
  • He is smart, agile, an avid reader. He was my Tony Robbins, without the firewalking bullshit.

Sage Advice

  • He had lots of information and advice to give.
  • Whereas most people shunned it, I ate it up.
  • One of the things I remember to this day is his talk about the “4 P’s” of marketing.

The “4 P’s” of marketing

  • Product – You had to have something to sell. It had to be in inventory.
  • Placement – You had to put that product where it could be found easily. Associate it with “add-on” items and upsells.
  • Promotion – You had to promote it. The company I worked for was a newspaper advertising behemoth. They had it down to a science.
  • Price – You had to compete. Mostly. Here’s a side story.

Final Thoughts

  • This is not the end of the podcast. It will just come more infrequently and less “on a schedule.”
  • As always, thanks for listening.

Internet Marketing Muscle Podcast Episode 112

cover

Hi and welcome to the Episode #112 of the Internet Marketing Muscle Podcast.

[tweetthis url=”http://goo.gl/GvPh9L”]Determining who your audience is is one of the most important things you can do for your business.[/tweetthis]

Show Notes

  • Episode #12!!!
  • Dedicating this one to your audience.
  • Let’s get started!

Think about Your Audience

  • Who do you serve?
  • What can you do for them? Can you earn a living doing it?
  • Put another way, can you earn a profit that you can be happy with?

Differentiators

  • Why you?
  • Why not somebody else?
  • What is different about your “product?”
  • What is the same, and how can you make it different?

Assemble an audience

  • Get it yourself
  • Borrow it from someone else
  • Both

Make them an offer they cannot refuse

  • This is what marketing & sales is all about – find a problem, create a solution.
  • Or, find a hole and fill it.
  • BUT, to do this, you have to really know your audience.

Build a real Relationship

  • Your audience is made of real people.
  • Therefore, treat them like real people.
  • That means you have to COMMUNICATE.
  • Sometimes, that’s hard. I get it.

Lifehack

  • When doing anything with audio or video, TEST your output before you do an entire show (like this podcast – don’t ask how I know this  )

Internet Marketing Muscle Podcast Episode 110

cover

Hi and welcome to the Episode #110 of the Internet Marketing Muscle Podcast.

[tweetthis url=”http://goo.gl/APwUvP”]Use this little-known keyword research method to find content marketing ideas.[/tweetthis]

Show Notes

  • Episode #10!!!
  • Dedicating this one to Jeff Bezos.
  • We’re diverting a bit from the regular format. Hey, maybe THIS is becoming the REGULAR format. I dunno.
  • Let’s get started!

A new way to do keyword research

  • Okay, it’s not new.
  • But it’s not used often and talked about even less.
  • And it’s sort of an “inside-out” approach.
  • Amazon search…watch the video to follow along.

Keyword research, Amazon-style

  • Go to Amazon.com.
  • Search a keyword phrase.
    • EXAMPLE: List building
  • Examine your search results—I call this the “macro view.”
  • Go look at those results, one-by-one.
  • Examine each one carefully—I call this one the “micro view.”
  • Look in the title, description, review titles & text, book categories…
  • Do as much intelligence gathering as possible. It will pay off.

Jot down the keywords that stand out

  • Jot down all the keyword phrases that jump out at you.
  • Compile into a list.
  • Use this list for writing blog content that people are actively searching for.
  • You can even categorize these posts into a single category and dominate Google.

Lifehack

  • Want to know how I make the PDFs for the show notes?
  • I write a blog post.
  • Then I use Print Friendly, a WordPress plugin.
    • Save it to Google Drive, get the link to share, then go back to the post and hyperlink back to the PDF.
    • Sounds convoluted, but it’s easy and gives a better user experience than me telling you to click the button
