Use Email to Drive Traffic

Did you know that the easiest way to drive traffic to your website is through your email list?

What? You don't have an email list? Better start one up right away!

Go here –  Aweber – the best email service you will find.

With that simple service, you can begin amassing tons of traffic.

Here's how:

  • Start with one simple list. Follow the easy directions. Now, the key:
  • Put an opt-in form on your site. It doesn't have to be fancy. And contrary to popular “goo-roo” opinion, you don't even have to offer
    a free report.

In all honesty, offering something for “free” is probably your least likely way of hooking subscribers onto your subscriber list.

Instead, offer up only the best content (see this), put that opt-in form at the bottom of the post, and ask people to subscribe so
that they don't miss out on more awesome stuff from you.

Then, follow up!

How?

With Aweber, you can set it up so that whenever you post a new piece of content on your website, it automatically sends an email
to your subscribers.

How cool is that?

Now you've set up this virtuous cycle – it's the gift that keeps on giving.

From time to time, remind your subscribers about your site.

Send links to past posts you've made. Send reminders about special offers you have. You can also send emails out pre-selling affiliate products.

You may say, “But Bill, how do I get people initially to my opt-in form?”

GREAT QUESTION!

There are LOTS of ways, one of which I'll get to in the next post.

But I'll give you a hint: Paid traffic. Don't run away – it's not costly at all and all you really have to do is make one tiny sacrifice.

More in that next post.

Of course, that's just one way. There are others. You can share your posts on Facebook. Your friends will visit; they may even sign up.

Encourage sharing – then friends of your Facebook friends will see your content and subscribe.

(Remember, your content has to be awesome for this to work. And that requires hard work.)

You can “tweet” your posts. You can guest blog on other people's sites.

SEO still works, but it's the long-game. And it's harder than it should be.

So stay tuned for the next post – where I'll share my strategy on cheap, paid content.

Aweber is what I use and I highly recommend it. There is a companion to it, too, that adds even more functionality to Aweber and it's called AW Pro Tools. It gives you incredible marketing tools all used with Aweber. It's cool. I mean, really cool.
