A Fork in the Road

fork in the roadAs you may have guessed in my last post here just this morning, I have been busy. It seems as though my business really has split into 2–maybe 3–pieces.

I hate the terms “online” and “offline” but they may be the best way to describe them to you. Better yet, maybe we can describe my business in other terms — Products and Services with Consulting thrown in to bridge the gap between the two.

Rather than esoteric or nonsensical labels, let’s just put it this way:

  • I build websites and put together social media and SEO campaigns. Those are services I provide.
  • I create information products. These products are generally related to the services I provide. For example, I may make a product that addresses a particular facet of search engine optimization.
  • I also consult. I help entrepreneurs and businesses establish an online presence and market and sell on the web.

So those are the 3 parts of my business.

I feel compelled to split those parts across three unique but related websites, just to make it easy for you to know where to go to find the things you are seeking.

In that light, then, this site will be dedicated almost solely to Services. That is, this is where you will come to peruse my services and contact me if you need any work done. There will be a consulting component here, as well. Call this my “Offline Consulting” piece.

ProfitPathz.com will be where I showcase my product creations. This shall be my “Online Consulting” piece.

Finally, the Coaching Academy will be where I teach you to perform the Services that I provide for a fee.

The Coaching Academy is pretty awesome. You get one hour’s worth of consulting time with me each month for a low $97 fee. Additional hours can be had in $97 increments.

This is a great deal because I normally charge $250 per hour for consulting.

But I digress.

If you’re on any of my subscriber lists and you just don’t feel like you’re on the right one, please by all means unsubscribe from the ones that are no longer pertinent and subscribe to the ones that are.

You can do that here.

As a techie internet marketer, I try a lot of software, plugins, extensions, and other stuff to make things work better, automate certain tasks, or just make things go a little faster.

I am trying out, right now as I type this, a new WordPress plugin called Digi Auto Links. This plugin takes your posts and uses the blogging feature called “pingbacks.” The idea is that every time you post, the plugin sends out a pingback and you get multiple back links for every single post you create.

We shall see. This post is all about Digi Auto Links, created by Andy Fletcher. It is meant to help with search engine optimization, or SEO.

SEO Checklist?

I'm contemplating putting together an SEO checklist that covers both "onsite" and "offsite" search engine optimization. Is this something YOU would be interested in?

Should I slant it towards general SEO or focus more tightly on WordPress-based websites?

What I foresee is a step-by-step, "do this, then do that" type of approach. What do you think?

Want First Page Rankings for Your Business?

I'm about to put my neck on the line here. I hope you appreciate this.

I just found a way to shortcut the often tedious and LONG drawn-out process of getting local websites ranked on the first page of Google.

Normally, it takes days–if not weeks or months–to get all the "ducks in a row" in order to get a local-based business to the front of Google, but I have found a way that seems to work…

…but I want to try it on some sites I don't own.

So here's what I want to do.

For three lucky businesses, I will set you up for free. No charge. No strings–once I do the work, I won't ask for payment–it's free. As in, it's on the house.

You will have to do a few things though, as follows:

  1. Your site has to be a WordPress site.
  2. You have to give me admin rights to the site.
  3. You have to give me the city and keywords you want to be ranked for.
  4. You must be a "brick and mortar" type of business or one that is concentrating specifically on a service area (like the Bay Area or a specific city or cities).

That's it. It's that simple. If you're interested, please sign up using the form below. It will take me a few days to get enough submissions to make a decision on which 3 sites I pick. This is not a "first come, first serve" offer — I will be picking the 3 sites I want to test this on.

I will not be "stacking the deck," though. I'll be verifying that these really are WordPress sites and that they're a suitable fit for the method I'm employing here.
