Do you have something to say or share? Would you like to have your unique article posted on this site?

Then Guest Blogging is for you!

Benefits of Guest Blogging

As a guest blogger, you can expect the following benefits:

  1. Increased traffic – Since this site has two distinct objectives (global and local marketing), your message will reach two different audiences: The global internet marketing crowd (you may teach them a thing or two about local marketing) and local businesses and prospective customers.
  2. More subscribers – If people embrace your article, they will have a greater tendency to sign up for your newsletter (you do have a newsletter, right?)
  3. More exposure – Even if you don't get more direct traffic or more subscribers, you will be getting your name out for quality content and as a top-notch author. Think "authority" and "personal branding." Those are good things.
  4. Expanded audience reach – You can tap into an audience or audiences that are outside of your normal reach. In many ways, a varied group of people want to learn what you know.
  5. Better networking in your niche — By interacting with this "internet marketing" niche, you become a known commodity as a go-to person in your particular sub-niche or industry. This can open many doors to joint ventures and partnerships. L-E-V-E-R-A-G-E.
  6. Quality backlinks — Last but not least, you are building quality backlinks with anchor text that you choose. Unlike blog commenting, where often times your ONLY anchor text is your name (hardly a choice, unless you change your name to your product or service :)), you get to pick your links, anchor text, and title attributes. More on this below.

Of course, I am not doing this solely out of the goodness of my heart. My heart certainly is good and it's almost always in the right place, but I am doing this for me, too.

Let me explain.

I like good content. I try to provide high-quality content with every post I make here and elsewhere. But I am only one person and sometimes, it's difficult to write every single day. Plus, I have only one perspective. Oh, I try to look at things from different angles, but even so, I still am limited by my own logic, experiences, successes, and failures. All of those things define my perspective.

You're different. You have different ways of looking at things, thinking things through. Additionally, you have achieved different successes and experienced unique failures. We all have faced different challenges.

You bring diversity of knowledge, experience, culture, industry, background, etc — that brings my readers a more complete picture of what internet marketing is.

So, provided you write well (you know, proper grammar, syntax, well-formed sentences, thoughts, and themes), your article can be featured on this site.

How to Be a Guest Blogger on Internet Marketing Muscle

It's really quite simple to become a guest blogger here. I will list the steps.

  1. Express interest. Send me an email: bill [dot] davis [at] internet-marketing-muscle [dot] com or make a comment here.
  2. Once we establish communication, we will make the appropriate arrangements, which will go something like what's in #3 and beyond.
  3. Write your article and email it to me. I reserve the right to edit or modify your submission. For any material changes, I will seek your approval. For grammatical or spelling edits, I will make the necessary changes and then publish, provided that your content is of high quality, is unique, and is on-topic. More information is below under the heading, Writing Guidelines.
  4. For those articles that are approved, I will tell you the publish date and URL. I will use many bookmarking, networking, backlinking, and other social media methods to promote your article.
I highly suggest that you do the same. Tell your friends and followers. Let your list know. "Like" the post on Facebook. Tweet about it.
  5. For rejected articles (and, judging by past guest blogging articles I have received over the years on other topics or in other niches, there will not be many), I will tell you why and you can choose to either edit and re-submit, write another article, or abandon the idea. The choice is yours.

Writing Guidelines

Of course, it probably goes without saying (since I've already said it all above) that your article needs to be of high quality and it has to be unique. Please don't use somebody else's work or even your own previously-published work. I will not necessarily run your article through CopyScape, but I might. This is not my (small) attempt at creating an Article Directory.

Guest BlogThe whole point of this is to deliver to my readers content that is useful, valuable, and unique while at the same time giving you exposure to a wider audience, getting you more traffic and subscribers, giving you authority, and giving you valuable backlinks (see Benefits above).

With all that said, here's the format of the article:

About the Author — [Your name] is [insert profession here] and writes about [industry] at [your homepage].

Body

Author byline — This is where you plug your site with a call to action. You can include a link to your site (it doesn't have to be your homepage–it could be a squeeze page or a post you want to promote within your site)

That's it, in a nutshell.
